Not quite the plan

on finding my groove as a 30 something single girl and caregiver for mom with dementia

Self care commitment.

Self care is happening.  My resevoirs are depleted and someyhing needs to change.

So, I have committed myself to 10 minute morning yoga and/ or meditation every morning for the rest of this month.  This really should be manageable every day.  (Ot at least as close as possible to that!)

I am hoping of course to turn this into a more regular habit.   But making a long term commitment feels daunting so I am starting here.

Let’s go self care!

I am a mid-30s single girl, trying to climb the ladder, get a date... and make sure Mom takes her meds. It's not where I expected to be. But it's where I am and this blog is about embracing that.

  1. You hit the nail on the head here, way to go! Self-care is so often overlooked in caregivers, and many feel guilty for taking a bit of time for themselves. BUT DO IT!
As dementia care professionals, we like to remind caregivers to “get help early and get help often,” because you as a caregiver only have a finite amount of energy to give to the health and well-being of another person, and this can be at the cost of your own health and well-being. How did your month of self-care go? Is it becoming one of your long-term healthy habits? Even though only online, I support you all the way!!
